I created Pavel as part of my MFA at PAFA. With an interest in making large public art and a desire to create with goals of bringing joy to all. Pavel also touches on themes of gift giving, the power of colors, and love.

Pavel is cast in aluminum with a powder coating, and weighs about 130lbs. He can live inside or out, and can be touched, but is not meant for climbing.

After a fun few months welcoming people to the Cherry Street Pier, Pavel moved to the beer garden and is happily welcoming people to come say hi as he enjoys his new habitat by the river. He has been told he can stay as long as he liked - so, until something else comes along - you can visit him there. And his search is now paused.

Friends were invited to create a garden on Pavel’s pedestal and they drew, and drew, and drew - so much love!
